In order to determine your eligibility for representation according, to the Legal Regulations you must apply to the Legal Aid District's office closest to your place of residence.
Hours during Which the Legal Aid Offices are Open to the Public:
As a general rule, Sundays -Thursdays between 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m and on Tuesday also between 3p.m. and 5p.m.
♦ In order to examine your application we recommend to bring the following:
* Identity Card
* Payment for the fee - NIS 35.
* Legal Aid Application Form - not obligatory! You can obtain it from any of the District Offices and we will also help you to complete it.
The official form can also be downloaded from the internet and/or be obtained in the Welfare Departments of the Local Authorities and/or you may get it from some of the voluntary organizations. The Form is provided free of charge in all the indicated institutions.
It should be emphasized that if you wish the processing of your Application to be carried out efficiently you are advised to complete the Form before coming to a meeting with the Lawyer and to forward it by mail or by facsimile.
Following receipt of your application at the District Office you will invited direct to a meeting with the Lawyer.
Upon receipt of the application in the District Office the procedure of processing the application will begin.
♦ If your application has already been forwarded to the District Legal Aid Office and you have been invited to a meeting you are advised to prepare copies of the following documents:
* Certificates of confirmation of your income (if you are salaried: salary slips, if you are self-employed: an annual return or certification of a CPA).
* Confirmations of receipt of allowances from the National Insurance.
* A Bank statement of the movements on current account in the last three months.
* Bank certificate as to the state of the account.
* Documents that are evidence of financial debts and documents showing any recovery procedures that have been taken with respect to them.
* Information concerning savings.
* Any legal document, in respect of which Legal Aid is being sought, for example - Statement of Claim, Statement of Defense, Attachment Order and so forth.
